SIMPLE GLAZED KIELBASA

Simple Glazed Kielbasa image

I found this on Pinterest, followed to a cute blog called Creating Through Life. I made it and it is simple, fairly quick and that is what I like. I love sausage any way you can cook it. I made two pounds of sausage so we would have leftovers for another night during the week.

Time 30m

Yield 6 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 5

2 lbs kielbasa or 2 lbs smoked sausage
white wine
2 tablespoons mustard, coat the sausage pieces
1/4 cup brown sugar (a handful it said)
dried parsley

Steps:

  • Cut the kielbasa into 3/8" thick slices at an angle .
  • Heat a non stick pan to a medium high heat, or if you don't have a non-stick can add a bit of cooking oil. Add sausage slices and cook until desired look.
  • Add just a splash of white wine to coat the bottom of the pan. Probably a 1/2 cup.
  • Add a handful of brown sugar, 1/4 cup will work. More or less you decide.
  • Add mustard to sausage pieces. I used Dijon mustard, my preference to mustard. Add some dry parsley, about a 1/2 teaspoons more or less.
  • Stir and let the sausages cook for about 10 minutes on low. These ingredients will thicken quickly.
  • Do not over cook or the sauce will burn easily.
  • So good, so simple.

Tips:

  • Choose the right kielbasa: Look for a kielbasa that is fully cooked and has a good amount of fat. This will help the glaze stick to the kielbasa and prevent it from drying out.
  • Make the glaze ahead of time: The glaze can be made up to 3 days in advance. This will save you time when you're ready to cook the kielbasa.
  • Use a grill or a skillet: You can cook the kielbasa on a grill or in a skillet. If you're using a grill, preheat it to medium-high heat. If you're using a skillet, heat it over medium heat.
  • Cook the kielbasa until it is browned and the glaze is caramelized: This will take about 10 minutes per side. Be sure to baste the kielbasa with the glaze frequently to prevent it from drying out.
  • Serve the kielbasa with your favorite sides: Bourbon-glazed kielbasa is a great main course for a party or a potluck. Serve it with sides like mashed potatoes, green beans, or coleslaw.

Conclusion:

Bourbon-glazed kielbasa is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for any occasion. The glaze is sweet, savory, and slightly smoky, and it pairs perfectly with the rich flavor of the kielbasa. Whether you're grilling it, pan-frying it, or baking it, bourbon-glazed kielbasa is sure to be a hit. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy meal, give this recipe a try. You won't be disappointed!
