BROCCOLI WITH GARLIC-HERB BUTTER

Broccoli With Garlic-Herb Butter image

This is a recipe from my 2008 Weight Watchers cookbook that we really enjoyed. I altered it slightly for our taste. It's a nice way to enjoy broccoli without all the cheese sauce. It's got a nice bite to it too. Feel free to leave out the crushed red pepper flakes. The frozen steam bags of broccoli work well with this recipe.

Tips:

- For optimal flavor, use fresh broccoli florets. If frozen broccoli is used, thaw it completely and drain off excess water before cooking. - To ensure even cooking, cut the broccoli florets into uniform sizes. This will also help them cook evenly. - Do not overcrowd the pan when cooking the broccoli. This will prevent it from steaming and ensure that it browns properly. - If desired, add a pinch of red pepper flakes or a clove of minced garlic to the butter for an extra kick of flavor. - For a more elegant presentation, arrange the buttery broccoli on a platter and garnish with chopped parsley and lemon wedges.

Conclusion:

This simple yet delicious dish is a great way to enjoy the goodness of broccoli. With its vibrant green color and slightly sweet flavor, buttery broccoli with parsley is a versatile side dish that can be paired with a variety of main courses. Whether you're looking for a quick and easy weeknight meal or a special occasion side dish, this recipe is sure to please everyone at the table.
