2 tablespoons kirsch (optional)

1 ½ cups water
1 orange, zested and juiced
4 each cinnamon sticks
1 (2 inch) piece fresh ginger, grated
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
6 each whole cloves

¼ teaspoon ground allspice
1 pint blueberries
¾ cup maple syrup
