CREAMY CHEESY POTATOES

Creamy Cheesy Potatoes image

Comfort food at it's best! I don't usually measure when I make this dish, so the ingredients are approximations. You may need more or less of an ingredient to suit your tastes. If you want a cheesy dish, use the cheddar cheese soup, otherwise use the cream of mushroom to use as a creamy base.

400ml double cream
3 sage leaves, finely chopped

Tips:

  • For a creamier texture, use full-fat cream cheese. For tangier flavor, use low-fat cream cheese. Sour cream can also be used.
  • Finely shredded potatoes will cook more evenly.
  • Cook the potatoes in a single layer so they brown evenly. If the pan is too crowded, the potatoes will steam instead of brown.
  • To prevent the cream cheese from curdling, add it to the hot potatoes slowly, stirring constantly.
  • If you don't have a food processor, you can grate the potatoes by hand. Just be sure to use a fine grater.
  • Season the potatoes to taste with salt and pepper. You can also add other seasonings, such as garlic powder, onion powder, or paprika.
  • Garnish the cheesy potatoes with chopped fresh parsley or chives.

Conclusion

Cheesy potatoes with cream cheese are a simple but delicious side dish that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. They are perfect for a weeknight meal or a special occasion. With just a few simple ingredients, you can create a dish that is both flavorful and satisfying.
