Tips:

  • Choose the right tater tots: Look for frozen tater tots that are crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Avoid tater tots that are too soft or mushy.
  • Brown the sausage and bacon: Browning the sausage and bacon before adding them to the casserole gives them a richer flavor. Be sure to drain off any excess grease.
  • Use a good quality cheese: The cheese is one of the most important ingredients in this casserole, so be sure to use a good quality cheese that you enjoy. A sharp cheddar cheese or a Monterey Jack cheese are both good options.
  • Don't overcook the casserole: The casserole is done when the cheese is melted and bubbly and the tater tots are heated through. Overcooking the casserole will make the tater tots mushy.
  • Serve the casserole immediately: This casserole is best served immediately after it is made. The tater tots will start to soften as they sit, so it's best to enjoy them while they're still crispy.

Conclusion:

Cheesy tater tot sausage and bacon casserole is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for a weeknight dinner or a potluck. It's also a great way to use up leftover sausage and bacon. With a few simple tips, you can make a casserole that is sure to please everyone at the table.
