Tips:

  • Choose Ground Chicken and Sausage Wisely: Select high-quality ground chicken and sausage with a good ratio of lean to fat. Look for ground chicken with a minimum of 93% lean and ground sausage with a minimum of 80% lean.
  • Use Fresh Ingredients: Fresh herbs, vegetables, and spices add vibrant flavors to the meatloaf. Use freshly chopped parsley, basil, and thyme for a delicious burst of flavor.
  • Don't Overmix: Overmixing the meat mixture can result in a tough and dense meatloaf. Mix the ingredients just until combined.
  • Shape the Meatloaf Properly: Form the meat mixture into a loaf shape that is evenly thick throughout. This will ensure even cooking.
  • Use a Meat Thermometer: To ensure that the meatloaf is cooked thoroughly, insert a meat thermometer into the center of the loaf. The internal temperature should reach 165°F (74°C) for ground chicken and 160°F (71°C) for ground sausage.
  • Let the Meatloaf Rest: After baking, allow the meatloaf to rest for about 10 minutes before slicing and serving. This allows the juices to redistribute throughout the loaf, resulting in a moist and flavorful dish.

Conclusion:

With its combination of juicy ground chicken, savory sausage, and a blend of aromatic herbs and spices, this chicken and sausage meatloaf is sure to be a hit at your next meal. Be it a casual family dinner or a special occasion gathering, this flavorful and versatile dish is guaranteed to please everyone.
