CHICKEN BACON RANCH SALAD

Chicken Bacon Ranch Salad image

I always seem to have leftover cooked chicken. This simple, tasty salad is a great use of your leftover chicken, either white meat, dark meat, or a combination! Romaine lettuce, cooked chicken, avocado, and cherry tomatoes combine with ranch dressing, and everything is topped off with crunchy bacon. Use purchased ranch salad dressing, or stir up one of the buttermilk dressing recipes on the site. Enjoy for a hearty lunch with some crackers, or for dinner, with a crusty bread. This recipe is proportioned for one person, but it's easy to double or triple for your needs.

Tips:

  • Choose the right chicken. For a richer flavor, use dark meat chicken, such as thighs or drumsticks. If you prefer a leaner version, use boneless, skinless chicken breasts.
  • Don't overcook the chicken. Overcooked chicken will be tough and dry. Cook it just until it is cooked through, about 10 minutes per side.
  • Use a variety of vegetables. This will give your chowder more flavor and texture. Some good options include carrots, celery, onions, potatoes, and corn.
  • Season the chowder well. Use a combination of salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. You can also add other herbs and spices to taste.
  • Let the chowder simmer for at least 30 minutes. This will allow the flavors to meld and develop.
  • Serve the chowder with a side of crusty bread or crackers. This will help to soak up the delicious broth.

Conclusion:

Chicken chowder is a delicious and easy-to-make soup that is perfect for a cold winter day. It is also a great way to use up leftover chicken. With a few simple ingredients and a little bit of time, you can have a delicious and satisfying meal that the whole family will enjoy.
