  • Beat in cream cheese.
  • Spread over Jello and top with pecans.
  • May add 1/4 to 1/3 cup powdered sugar to topping, if desired.

CRANBERRY JELLO SALAD

Cranberry Jello Salad image

This came from New Hampshire Police Association. I have not tried this, just posting for safe keeping.

Provided by internetnut

Categories     Fruit

Time 15m

Yield 6-8 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 6

6 ounces strawberry Jell-O gelatin dessert (2 small boxes)
1 cup boiling water
15 ounces jellied cranberry sauce, strained
20 ounces canned crushed pineapple
15 ounces canned mandarin oranges, drained
3 ounces chopped pecans

Steps:

  • Dissolve Jello in boiling water. Drain crushed pineapple, reserving juice in one bowl and fruit in another bowl.
  • Mix together jello, cranberry sauce, and pineapple juice until smooth; refrigerate until half set. Stir in mandarin oranges, pineapple, and pecans.
  • Pour into decorative mold and refrigerate.

Tips:

  • Use high-quality ingredients for the best flavor. Fresh, free-range chicken, crisp celery, and sweet grapes will make a big difference.
  • Don't overcook the chicken. Chicken that is too dry will be tough and chewy in the salad.
  • Let the chicken cool completely before adding it to the salad. This will help prevent the salad from becoming watery.
  • Use a light hand when mixing the salad. Over-mixing can make the salad mushy.
  • Serve the salad immediately or chill it for later. The salad will keep in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Conclusion:

This chicken salad with cranberry-lemon jello topping is a classic dish that is perfect for any occasion. It is easy to make, delicious, and always a crowd-pleaser. So next time you are looking for a refreshing and flavorful salad, give this recipe a try. You won't be disappointed!
