Tips:

  • When choosing scallops, look for ones that are about 1 1/2 inches in diameter and have a firm, plump texture.
  • If you can't find Chinese bacon, you can substitute regular bacon. Just be sure to cook it until it is crispy before wrapping it around the scallops.
  • To make the sauce, you can use any type of hoisin sauce that you like. If you want a sweeter sauce, you can add some honey or brown sugar.
  • Be careful not to overcook the scallops. They should be cooked through, but still slightly translucent in the center.
  • Serve the scallops immediately with the sauce drizzled over the top.

Conclusion:

Chinese bacon-wrapped scallops are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer or main course. They are perfect for a special occasion or a weeknight meal. The scallops are tender and juicy, and the bacon adds a smoky, savory flavor. The sauce is sweet and tangy, and it complements the scallops perfectly.
