Tips:

  • Mise en Place: Before you start baking, make sure you have all of your ingredients and equipment ready to go. This will help you stay organized and avoid any scrambling.
  • Properly Measure Ingredients: Use measuring cups and spoons to accurately measure your ingredients. This will ensure that your cake turns out correctly.
  • Cream Butter and Sugar Thoroughly: Creaming butter and sugar together until light and fluffy is essential for a successful cake. This step helps to incorporate air into the batter, which will make your cake light and airy.
  • Gradually Add Eggs: Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. This will help to prevent the batter from curdling.
  • Do Not Overmix the Batter: Once all of the ingredients are added, mix the batter only until it is just combined. Overmixing can result in a tough, dense cake.
