Time 4h15m

Yield 8 dozen, 96 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 9

2 cups butter
3 1/2 cups granulated sugar
4 teaspoons vanilla
2 cups small curd cottage cheese
5 1/2 cups flour
1 cup cocoa
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

  • Add nuts.
  • Chill several hours or overnight.
  • Rolls into balls, then roll in powdered sugar.
  • Bake on a greased cookie sheet at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.

Tips:

  • Use high-quality chocolate for the best flavor. A semisweet or bittersweet chocolate with a cocoa content of at least 70% is a good choice.
  • Make sure the cottage cheese is well-drained before using it in the recipe. This will help to prevent the cookies from being too wet.
  • Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes before baking. This will help the cookies to hold their shape and prevent them from spreading too much.
  • Bake the cookies until they are just set. Overbaking will make them dry and crumbly.
  • Let the cookies cool completely before frosting them. This will help to prevent the frosting from melting.

Conclusion:

Chocolate cottage cheese cookies are a delicious and easy-to-make treat that are perfect for any occasion. They are made with simple ingredients and can be customized to your liking. Whether you like them plain, frosted, or topped with your favorite sprinkles, these cookies are sure to be a hit.
