Tips:

  • To make the Chow Mein Candy Birds Nest, you will need the following ingredients: chow mein noodles, vegetable oil, sugar, honey, light corn syrup, soy sauce, unseasoned rice vinegar, baking soda, and parchment paper.
  • Before you start, make sure your wok or large skillet is well-seasoned. This will help prevent the noodles from sticking.
  • When you are making the caramel, be careful not to overcook it. It should be a light amber color.
  • When you are adding the baking soda to the caramel, it will cause it to foam up. This is normal. Just stir it until the foam subsides.
  • To make the birds nests, you will need to use a pair of chopsticks or two forks. Hold the chopsticks or forks together and twirl them around the caramel-coated noodles to create a nest shape.
  • Let the birds nests cool completely before serving. You can store them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.

Conclusion:

The Chow Mein Candy Birds Nest is a delicious and easy-to-make treat that is perfect for parties or potlucks. It is also a great way to use up leftover chow mein noodles. With its crispy texture and sweet and savory flavor, this candy is sure to be a hit with everyone who tries it.
