Tips:

  • Choose ripe tomatillos: Look for tomatillos that are firm and have a deep green color. Avoid tomatillos that are soft or have blemishes.
  • Roast the tomatillos: Roasting the tomatillos brings out their natural sweetness and flavor. To roast the tomatillos, place them on a baking sheet and broil them for 5-7 minutes per side, or until they are slightly charred.
  • Use fresh cilantro: Fresh cilantro adds a bright, citrusy flavor to the salsa. If you don't have fresh cilantro, you can use dried cilantro, but it won't have the same flavor.
  • Adjust the heat level to your liking: If you like spicy salsa, add more jalapeños or serrano peppers. If you prefer a milder salsa, remove the seeds from the peppers before adding them to the salsa.
  • Let the salsa rest before serving: This allows the flavors to meld together and develop. The salsa will taste even better if you let it rest for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Conclusion:

This chunky tomatillo salsa is a delicious and versatile condiment that can be used in a variety of dishes. It's perfect for tacos, burritos, enchiladas, and other Mexican dishes. It can also be used as a dipping sauce for chips or vegetables. No matter how you choose to use it, this salsa is sure to be a hit!
