Tips:

  • Prep your ingredients carefully: Measure and gather all ingredients before you start baking. This ensures that you have everything you need on hand and helps avoid any last-minute scrambling.
  • Use room temperature ingredients: This helps the ingredients blend together more easily and evenly, resulting in a smoother batter and better texture in the final loaf.
  • Don't overmix the batter: Overmixing can develop the gluten in the flour too much, resulting in a tough loaf. Mix until just combined.
  • Bake the loaf until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. This ensures that the loaf is cooked through without being overbaked.
  • Let the loaf cool completely before slicing: This allows the flavors to develop and the loaf to set properly. Slicing the loaf while it's still warm can cause it to crumble.
