Time 35m

Number Of Ingredients 11

c 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
Tbsp 1 tablespoon baking powder
tsp 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
tsp 1 teaspoon salt
c 1 cup sour cream
Tbsp 1 tablespoon sugar
tsp 2 teaspoons cinnamon
tsp 1 teaspoon nutmeg
tsp 2 teaspoons vanilla flavoring
c 3/4 cup raisins
c 3/4 cup milk

Steps:

  • 1. In a large bowl whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Add sour cream, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla and mix well with a spoon. Fold in raisins and milk and make into a dough, adding flour if needed. Pat or roll dough out (I just pat it out with my hands) on a hard surface and cut with a biscuit cutter. Place biscuits on a sprayed baking sheet. Bake in preheated 425 degree oven 12 to 15 minutes. Makes 10 - 12 biscuits depending on size you make them.
  • 2. Topping for Biscuits 1 cup powdered sugar 4 or 5 tablespoon milk In a bowl whisk together the milk and sugar until you get the consistency you want to drizzle over the hot biscuits. Note: You can reheat biscuits and leftover topping in microwave.

Tips:

  • Use cold butter and sour cream for the best results. This will help to create flaky biscuits.
  • Be sure to cut the butter into small pieces before adding it to the flour mixture. This will help to distribute the butter evenly throughout the dough.
  • Do not overwork the dough. Overworking the dough will make the biscuits tough.
  • Roll out the dough to a thickness of about 1/2 inch. If the dough is too thick, the biscuits will not cook evenly.
  • Cut the biscuits into rounds using a biscuit cutter or a sharp knife.
  • Place the biscuits on a greased baking sheet and bake at 425 degrees Fahrenheit for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • Serve the biscuits warm with butter, honey, or jam.

Conclusion:

Cinnamon sour cream biscuits are a delicious and easy-to-make treat that are perfect for any occasion. They are flaky, buttery, and have a hint of cinnamon that makes them irresistible. These biscuits are sure to be a hit with your family and friends.
