COCONUT MARGARITAS

Coconut Margaritas image

Setting out to duplicate the coconut margaritas we had in Costa Rica, my first attempt was awful! I surfed the internet for a good recipe with little luck. I then took what I'd learned from my first nasty try and the ideas I picked up online and after about 5 or 6 attempts I came up with this. Enjoy!

This cocktail is reminiscent of a really good pina colada, but with tequila and lime instead of pineapple.

Tips:

  • Use fresh coconut water and lime juice: Fresh ingredients will give your margaritas the best flavor. If you can't find fresh coconut water, you can use unsweetened coconut milk mixed with water.
  • Chill your ingredients: Chilling your ingredients will help to make your margaritas refreshing and flavorful. You can chill your coconut water, lime juice, and tequila in the refrigerator or freezer for at least 30 minutes before making your margaritas.
  • Use a good quality tequila: The tequila you use will make a big difference in the flavor of your margaritas. Choose a tequila that is 100% agave and has a smooth flavor.
  • Don't over-shake your margaritas: Over-shaking your margaritas will make them watery and dilute the flavor. Shake your margaritas for just a few seconds, until the ingredients are well combined.
  • Garnish your margaritas with fresh coconut and lime: A garnish will make your margaritas look and taste even better. Try garnishing your margaritas with fresh coconut shavings, lime wedges, or even a sprig of mint.

Conclusion:

Coconut margaritas are a delicious and refreshing cocktail that is perfect for any occasion. With their sweet, tropical flavor and smooth texture, coconut margaritas are sure to please everyone. So next time you're looking for a delicious and easy-to-make cocktail, give coconut margaritas a try. You won't be disappointed!
