To save time, make the crab-mushroom topping early in the day and store it in the refrigerator. -Jean Bevilacqua, Rhododendron, Oregon

Tips:

  • For the best flavor, use fresh lump crab meat. If you can't find fresh crab meat, frozen crab meat will also work.
  • Be sure to drain the crab meat well before using it. This will help to prevent the sandwiches from getting soggy.
  • Use a good quality Swiss cheese. A sharp or extra sharp Swiss cheese will give the sandwiches the best flavor.
  • Don't overload the sandwiches with too much crab meat or cheese. This will make them difficult to eat.
  • If you don't have a panini press, you can grill the sandwiches in a regular skillet over medium heat.
  • Serve the sandwiches immediately with your favorite sides, such as chips, salad, or soup.

Conclusion:

Crab and Swiss melts are the perfect comfort food for a cold day. They're easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste preferences.
