Steps:
- 1. In a medium-sized bowl, add chopped cranberries, green onion, cilantro and jalapeno. (NOTE: Don't use a food processor to chop these. It is slightly time consuming, but the cranberries will liquify if they are not hand-chopped.).
- 2. Pour sugar, lemon juice and salt over cranberry mixture and stir gently until blended.
- 3. Cover with plastic wrap and place in refrigerator for at least one hour. If you prefer less tart cranberries, keep in the refrigerator overnight.
- 4. Take cranberry mixture out of the refrigerator and stir all ingredients together. Strain out the liquid using a colander with small holes.
- 5. Spread cream cheese over bottom of a pie plate or 9×9 dish.
- 6. Pour cranberry mixture atop cream cheese and keep in refrigerator until ready to serve.
- 7. Serve with Ritz crackers and enjoy!

Tips:
- Choose fresh cranberries: Look for cranberries that are plump and firm, with a deep red color. Avoid cranberries that are bruised or have soft spots.
- Use a food processor or blender: This is the easiest way to make the dip, as it will help to finely chop the cranberries and jalapeños.
- Adjust the amount of jalapeños to your taste: If you like your dip spicy, add more jalapeños. If you prefer a milder dip, use fewer jalapeños.
- Serve the dip with your favorite dippers: Tortilla chips, crackers, and vegetables are all great options.
- Make the dip ahead of time: The dip can be made up to 3 days in advance. Simply store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
Conclusion:
Cranberry jalapeño dip is a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer that is perfect for parties and gatherings. It is a great way to use up fresh cranberries, and it is also a healthy snack. The dip is sweet, spicy, and tangy, and it is sure to be a hit with your guests. So next time you are looking for a quick and easy appetizer, give cranberry jalapeño dip a try.
