2 tablespoons white sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
¾ cup water
⅔ cup shortening
1 egg
1 (21 ounce) can apple pie filling
1 tablespoon lemon juice
½ teaspoon apple pie spice

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
  • In a medium mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Mix well, then add water, shortening, and egg. Mix on low speed until ingredients are combined, then beat on medium speed 2 minutes. Spread into pie pan.
  • In a medium bowl mix together pie filling, lemon juice, and apple pie spice. Spread over crust; do not stir.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 40 to 45 minutes, until crust is browned.

3/4 cup sugar
2/3 cup shortening (not oil)
2 tablespoons water
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 egg
1 can pie filling (cherry or apple)

Steps:

  • Combine all ingredients EXCEPT pie filling with a mixer for two minutes.
  • Pour into 9 inch pie pan.
  • Make a hole in the center and pour the pie filling in.
  • Sprinkle the cinnamon over the top and bake in a 350ºF.
  • oven for 40 to 45 minutes.

113 g butter, softened
3/4 cup milk
1 egg
1 (595 g) can duncan hines country apple pie filling
1/2 cup cinnamon sugar

Steps:

  • preheat oven to 180 Celsius grease a 9 inch pie dish.
  • using an electric mixer, beat the flour, butter, sugar, salt, milk and egg until well combined.
  • pour batter into dish.
  • pour in pie filling, starting in centre and moving to 1 inch away from the edge of the dish.
  • sprinkle with cinnamon sugar. DO NOT STIR ANYTHING.
  • cook for 35 - 40 minutes or until golden on top and a skewer comes out clean.

I got this recipe out of a cookbook I sent for many years ago.I have made it a few times through the years and family and friends seem to like it.

1 c flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 Tbsp sugar
1 egg
2/3 c white shortening
3/4 c water
1 can(s) apple pie filling
1 Tbsp lemon juice
1/2 tsp apple pie spices

Steps:

  • 1. Combine flour,baking powder,salt,sugar,egg,shortening and water and beat until smooth.
  • 2. Pour batter into a 9 inch pie plate.
  • 3. In separate bowl,mix the pie filling,lemon juice and spices.
  • 4. Mound filling in center of pie plate.Do not mix.
  • 5. Bake in 425 degree oven for 40 min.

Tips:

  • For a flaky crust, use a combination of butter and shortening.
