CROCK POT APPLE OATMEAL
This oatmeal is so easy! I make it right before I go to bed, and I turn the crock pot off as soon as I get up. Everyone in my house loves it! Found this in 'Fix it and Forget it.' I also have to add in reference to some of the reviews, our family likes it mushy.

Steps:
- Mix apples and pineapple tidbits in buttered crock pot. To the reserved pineapple juice, add orange marmalade, maple syrup, apple cider and curry powder. Stir and pour over apple mixture. Cover and cook on HIGH for 1 hour.
- To make Topping: Combine flour, oats, brown sugar and cinnamon in bowl. Cut in butter until mixture is crumbly. Spread topping over apples. Cook on LOW 2 1/2 to 3 hours until done. Let cool 10 minutes before serving.
Tips:
- Prep Apples Wisely: Choose firm, slightly tart apples like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp. Peel and chop them into small, uniform pieces for even cooking.
- Enhance Flavor with Spices: Don't shy away from adding spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice. These warm spices complement the apples and oats perfectly.
- Adjust Sweetness to Your Liking: The amount of sugar or maple syrup can be adjusted based on your preference. Start with a smaller amount and add more if desired.
- Use the Right Milk: Whole milk or 2% milk will give you a creamier oatmeal. You can also use almond milk or soy milk for a dairy-free option.
- Cook on Low and Slow: Low and slow cooking helps the oats absorb the flavors and become tender without overcooking.
- Stir Occasionally: Give the oatmeal a stir every few hours to prevent it from sticking to the bottom of the crock pot.
- Add Toppings Before Serving: Top your oatmeal with nuts, dried fruits, or a drizzle of honey before serving for an extra layer of flavor and texture.
Conclusion:
Crock-Pot Apple Oatmeal is a delightful and hassle-free breakfast option that combines the goodness of apples, oats, and warm spices. With minimal prep work and the convenience of a slow cooker, you can wake up to a warm and comforting breakfast that's perfect for busy mornings or cozy weekends. Experiment with different apple varieties, spices, and toppings to create a customized oatmeal that suits your taste preferences. Whether you prefer a classic apple cinnamon oatmeal or a more elaborate version with nuts and dried fruits, this recipe offers a versatile base for endless flavor combinations.
