Crock Pot Cheeseburger Macaroni Recipe - (4.4/5) image

Provided by Crock_Pots_Rock

Number Of Ingredients 13

1 pound ground beef, cooked and drained
1 (16-ounce) box elbow macaroni, cooked according to package directions - reserving 1 cup of the pasta water
1 large onion, grated
2 garlic cloves, grated
1 cup beef stock or broth
1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
3 tablespoons bisquick (regular flour would work too)
1 chicken bouillon cube
1 (12-ounce) can evaporated milk
3 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese

Steps:

  • Add everything to a 5 or 6 quart crock pot, including the reserved cup of pasta water. Stir to incorporate. Cook on low for 6 to 7 hours or on high for 3 to 4 hours. Stir again to incorporate melted cheese evenly. Serve with favorite cheeseburger toppings (optional) and tossed salad. NOTE: Sauce will thicken as it cooks. If it is still too "watery" when you are ready to serve, turn crock pot to high and remove lid for liquid to evaporate. This will take about 30 to 45 minutes before thickening.

CROCK POT CHEESEBURGERS

I make these for DH and friends for Football Sunday's. They love them. They are very easy to make and everybody can help themselves and add their own condiments. Serve with chips and plenty of cold beer! They are sure to disappear! I leave the green peppers out since I hate them! This is a great recipe to take to a potluck and can easily be doubled.

1 jar(s) Ragu double cheddar, 16 oz.
1 can(s) Rotel diced tomatoes with green chilies, 10 oz.

16 ounce(s) bag of small elbow macaroni
2 cup(s) shredded Jack and Colby cheeses (I usually buy a pre-shredded bag)

Tips:

  • For a crispier topping, pre-cook the macaroni noodles according to the package directions and then add them to the slow cooker at the end of the cooking time.
  • Use a variety of cheeses to add flavor and texture to the macaroni and cheese. A good combination is sharp cheddar, mozzarella, and Parmesan.
  • For a cheesier macaroni and cheese, use evaporated milk instead of regular milk.
  • Add in some vegetables, such as chopped broccoli, cauliflower, or carrots, to make the dish more nutritious.
  • Top the macaroni and cheese with crumbled bacon, chopped green onions, or crushed potato chips for extra flavor and texture.
  • If you don't have a slow cooker, you can make this recipe in a Dutch oven over low heat.
