Tips:

  • Use a stand mixer or handheld mixer to cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. This will help to incorporate air into the dough, resulting in a soft and chewy cookie.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. This will help to prevent the dough from curdling.
  • Stir in the dry ingredients until just combined. Overmixing will result in a tough cookie.
  • Fold in the dates and walnuts. If you are using chopped dates, be sure to chop them finely so that they distribute evenly throughout the dough.
  • Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes before baking. This will help to firm up the dough and prevent it from spreading too much in the oven.
  • Bake the cookies in a preheated oven at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are set.
  • Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Conclusion:

These date drop cookies are a delicious and easy-to-make treat that are perfect for any occasion. They are soft and chewy with a sweet and nutty flavor. The addition of dates and walnuts gives them a unique and irresistible texture.
