Tips:

  • Fresh vs. Frozen Blueberries: Either type works well for this recipe, but if using frozen berries, do not thaw them before adding them to the filling. Thawing them will result in a runny filling.
  • Measuring the Flour: To ensure the accuracy of the recipe, use a kitchen scale to measure the flour. Alternatively, spoon the flour into a dry measuring cup and level it off with a knife.
  • Room Temperature Butter: Make sure the butter is at room temperature before creaming it with the sugar. This will help create a smooth and creamy batter.
  • Mixing the Batter: Do not overmix the batter. Overmixing will result in a tough cobbler.
  • Blueberry Layer: Spread the blueberries evenly in the baking dish before topping them with the batter. This will help prevent the berries from sinking to the bottom.
  • Baking Time: The cobbler is done baking when the top is golden brown and the filling is bubbling.
  • Serving: Let the cobbler cool for at least 15 minutes before serving. This will allow the filling to set and prevent it from running out.

Conclusion:

This easy blueberry cobbler is a classic dessert that is perfect for any occasion. It is made with fresh or frozen blueberries, a simple batter, and a sprinkling of sugar. The cobbler is baked until the top is golden brown and the filling is bubbling. It is then served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. This recipe is a great way to use up fresh blueberries during the summer months. It is also a relatively inexpensive dessert to make, which is always a bonus. If you are looking for a simple and delicious blueberry cobbler recipe, this is the one for you.
