BEST TURKEY MEATLOAF

After much trial and error trying to make a more healthy meatloaf, I came up with this recipe. It is important to make this on a baking sheet so the liquids can be drained off the meatloaf. Also, do not put the topping on before the meatloaf has cooked for 30 minutes. Turkey creates a lot of juices, so if you put the topping on first it will become watery and runny.

Tips:

  • Use a variety of fresh herbs and spices to enhance the flavor of your turkey loaf. Some good choices include rosemary, thyme, sage, garlic, onion powder, and black pepper.
  • If you don't have any bread crumbs on hand, you can make your own by tearing up some slices of bread and then pulsing them in a food processor until they're fine crumbs.
  • Be sure to mix the turkey loaf ingredients thoroughly, but don't overmix, or the loaf will be tough.
  • When baking the turkey loaf, use a loaf pan that's just big enough to accommodate the mixture. If you use a pan that's too big, the loaf will be thin and dry.
  • To ensure that the turkey loaf is cooked through, insert a meat thermometer into the center of the loaf. The loaf is done when the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Let the turkey loaf rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving. This will help the juices redistribute throughout the loaf, making it more flavorful and moist.

Conclusion:

Turkey loaf is a delicious and versatile dish that can be enjoyed for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. It's a great way to use up leftover turkey, and it's also a healthy and affordable option for feeding a crowd. With a little creativity, you can create a turkey loaf that's sure to please everyone at your table.
