EASY & DELICIOUS CHEESE BALL

Easy & Delicious Cheese Ball image

This cheese ball recipe name was originally "Red Cheese Ball". It's not really red so I took the liberty to rename it. I make it several times during the Thanksgiving through Christmas holidays. It always disappears quickly.

Provided by Amy Shannon

Categories     Cheese Appetizers

Time 1h

Number Of Ingredients 9

2 pkg 8 oz. cream cheese, softened
8 oz shredded cheddar cheese
2 tsp worcestershire sauce
1/2 c coarsely chopped black olives
10 Tbsp finely chopped dried beef, divided
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp garlic powder
parsley - garnish as desired

Steps:

  • 1. Using an electric mixer, beat together the cream cheese and cheddar cheese.
  • 2. Add the worcestershire sauce, olives, 4 tablespoons chopped dried beef, black pepper, onion, and garlic powders. Continue beating until well blended.
  • 3. Turn out on foil or waxed paper and refrigerate at least 24 hours. Remove from refrigerator & reshape if needed.
  • 4. Roll cheeseball in the remaining dried beef to coat completely. Wrap in foil or plastic & refrigerate until ready to serve. Serve with assorted crackers.

Tips:

  • To ensure a smooth and creamy cheese ball, use softened cream cheese and carefully mix in the other ingredients until well combined.
  • For a more flavorful cheese ball, use a variety of cheeses with different textures and flavors. A good combination might include a hard cheese like cheddar, a soft cheese like Brie, and a spreadable cheese like Boursin.
  • Get creative with your mix-ins! Nuts, dried fruits, herbs, and spices can all add unique flavors and textures to your cheese ball.
  • If you're making the cheese ball ahead of time, wrap it tightly in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or up to 3 days.
  • To serve, let the cheese ball soften at room temperature for about 30 minutes before unwrapping. Garnish with fresh herbs, nuts, or fruit before serving.

Conclusion:

Cheese balls are always a hit, no matter what the occasion may be. They're easy to make ahead of time, and they can be customized to your liking with a variety of flavors and mix-ins. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy appetizer, give one of these cheese ball recipes a try. You won't be disappointed!
