EASY DOUBLE CHOCOLATE CHIP BROWNIES

EASY DOUBLE CHOCOLATE CHIP BROWNIES image

Found this recipe on the back of "Nestlé Chocolate Chip" package about 25 years ago. Like my other recipes, this is a keeper. Very easy and so good.

Provided by Linda Easley

Categories     Chocolate

Time 30m

Number Of Ingredients 8

2 c (12 ounce package) nestlé toll house semi-sweet chocolate morsels, divided
1 stick butter ( 1/2 cup) cut into small pieces
3 eggs
1-1/4 c all-purpose flour
1 c sugar
1/4 tsp baking soda
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 c chopped nuts (optional)

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350. Grease 13x9-inch baking pan.
  • 2. Melt 1 cup morsels and butter in large heaven-duty saucepan over low heat, stir until smooth. Remove pan from heat.
  • 3. Add eggs; stir well.
  • 4. Add flour, sugar, baking soda and vanilla extract, stir well. Stir in remaining morsels and nuts. Spread in prepared pan.
  • 5. Bake for 18 to 22 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out slightly sticky. Cool completely in pan on wire rack. Enjoy.

Tips:

  • Use high-quality chocolate. This will make a big difference in the taste of your brownies. Look for chocolate with a cocoa content of at least 70%.
  • Do not overmix the batter. Overmixing will make the brownies tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Bake the brownies in a preheated oven. This will help them to rise evenly.
  • Do not overbake the brownies. Overbaked brownies will be dry and crumbly. A toothpick inserted into the center of the brownies should come out with just a few moist crumbs attached.
  • Let the brownies cool completely before cutting them. This will help them to set and hold their shape.

Conclusion:

These are just a few tips for making the best chocolate brownies. With a little practice, you'll be able to make perfect brownies every time. So what are you waiting for? Get baking!
