Time 1h15m

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 stick butter
1 stick margarine
1 box saltine crackers
1 c brown sugar, lightly packed
1 pkg semisweet cho. chip morsels
1 c pecans, in pieces

Steps:

  • 1. Line a large cookie sheet with foil, place crackers side by side on top of foil.
  • 2. Melt Butter, Margarine and Brown sugar in pot bring to boil for 3 min. Pour this mixture over crackers and spread to cover evenly. Bake this in the oven 400 for 5-7 min.
  • 3. as soon as this comes out of the oven pour the bag of morsels over HOT crackers and spread around till melted. Once evenly spread sprinkle pecans on top. Chill in fridge for 1 hour then break into pieces.

Tips for Making Cracker Candy:

  • Use fresh crackers. Stale crackers will not hold up well in the candy and will make it taste less fresh.
  • Be careful not to overcook the sugar mixture. If the sugar is overcooked, it will be too hard and brittle and will not be able to be poured over the crackers.
  • Pour the sugar mixture over the crackers immediately after it is cooked. If you wait too long, the sugar mixture will start to harden and will be difficult to pour.
  • Let the cracker candy cool completely before breaking it into pieces. If you break it into pieces too soon, it will be too soft and will crumble.
  • Store cracker candy in an airtight container in a cool, dry place. Cracker candy can be stored for up to two weeks.

Conclusion:

Cracker candy is a delicious and easy-to-make treat that is perfect for any occasion. With just a few simple ingredients, you can create a delicious candy that everyone will love. So next time you are looking for a sweet treat, give cracker candy a try!
