Time 15m

Yield 4-6 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 onion, chopped
1 garlic, crushed
4 slices prosciutto
2 eggs
300 ml cream
salt and pepper
1/2 cup parmesan cheese
500 g pasta

Steps:

  • Sauté onion, garlic and prosciutto.
  • Mix cream, eggs and S&P together.
  • Mix all together and bring to boil. Add parmesan and stir until melted.
  • Mix in cooked pasta and serve with parmesan.

Tips:

  • Use high-quality ingredients: Fresh eggs, good quality Parmesan cheese, and authentic Guanciale or Pancetta will make all the difference in the taste of your Carbonara.
  • Cook the pasta al dente: This means that the pasta should be cooked through but still have a slight bite to it. Overcooked pasta will make your Carbonara mushy.
  • Don't overcook the eggs: The eggs should be cooked just until they are thickened and creamy. Overcooked eggs will make your Carbonara scrambled.
  • Add the cheese gradually: This will help to prevent the cheese from clumping. Stir constantly until the cheese is melted and smooth.
  • Season to taste: Add salt and pepper to taste. You may also want to add a pinch of red pepper flakes or grated nutmeg.
  • Serve immediately: Carbonara is best served immediately after it is made. The pasta will start to absorb the sauce and become mushy if you let it sit for too long.

Conclusion:

Carbonara is a delicious and easy-to-make pasta dish that is perfect for a quick weeknight meal. With just a few simple ingredients, you can create a dish that is sure to please the whole family. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy pasta dish, give Carbonara a try. You won't be disappointed!
