QUICK & EASY GRILLED HAMBURGERS

So easy! So quick! So tasty! We have a large family and everyone (even the little ones) love Nana's burgers.

Categories     Meat

Time 15m

Yield 6-8 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 2

2 lbs ground chuck
1 (1 ounce) envelope Lipton Onion Soup Mix (I change it up from Beefy Onion to Mushroom Onion or regular Onion-comes 2 envelopes to a box)

Steps:

  • Combine ingredients, taking care not to over mix. Add a tablespoon of water if need be. Make into 6 - 8 patties. Grill on outside grill. We use a gas grill at 300 degrees and cook time is about 10 minutes, flipping the burgers a couple of times. Eliminate excessive grease by pressing the burgers after each flip. Add cheese of your choice or none at all -- serve hot on hamburger buns or eat just plain.

Tips:

  • Choose the right meat. Ground chuck is a good all-around choice for hamburgers, as it's relatively lean but still has enough fat to keep them juicy. If you're looking for a leaner burger, you can use ground turkey or chicken.
  • Season the meat well. Salt and pepper are the essential seasonings for hamburgers, but you can also add other spices, such as garlic powder, onion powder, or chili powder.
  • Don't overwork the meat. When you mix the ingredients together, do so gently. Overworking the meat will make the burgers tough.
  • Form the burgers into patties. Use your hands to form the meat into patties that are about 1/2-inch thick and 4 inches in diameter.
  • Cook the burgers over medium-high heat. This will help to create a nice crust on the outside of the burgers while keeping them juicy on the inside.
  • Don't flip the burgers too often. Flipping the burgers too often will prevent them from cooking evenly. Flip the burgers only once, when they are cooked about halfway through.
  • Use a meat thermometer to check the doneness of the burgers. The burgers are done when they reach an internal temperature of 160 degrees Fahrenheit for medium-rare, 165 degrees Fahrenheit for medium, or 170 degrees Fahrenheit for well-done.
  • Let the burgers rest before serving. Letting the burgers rest for a few minutes before serving will help to keep them juicy.

Conclusion:

Making delicious hamburgers at home is easy and rewarding. By following these tips, you can create juicy, flavorful burgers that your family and friends will love. So fire up the grill and get cooking!
