EASY RED BEANS AND RICE
This is an easy and delicious take on a Louisiana classic that you can prepare and cook in 40 minutes! I use turkey kielbasa to cut down on the fat, but not the flavor. Season with hot pepper sauce if you like.

AUTHENTIC BIG EASY RED BEANS AND RICE
Quick, Simple, and filled with real Cajun flavor as if you're eating in New Orleans, Louisiana. While simmering, taste for flavor - add a little more Cajun seasoning if needed. I've combined green, orange, and red bell peppers before and it was delicious. Note: 2 tablespoons minced garlic, not 2 cloves

EASY RED BEANS AND RICE
I got this recipe a few years ago from my secretary and my family just loves it. They make it for their own families now.lt is also a good dish to take to a potluck dinner. You never bring any home and it's a good idea to copy the recipe for hand outs because you will be asked. It's easy, but tastes like you spent all day on...

Steps:
- 1. Cook rice, drain and put aside
- 2. In a large skillet or dutch oven, brown sausage...Drain if you need to.
- 3. Add in the three cans of red beans. You do not need to drain them
- 4. Mix the three packages of gravy mix with the three cups of water. Stir well and pour into the bean mixture.
- 5. Stir until mixture thickens....Add creole seasoning and pepper (if needed). Stir in rice. Serve with hot bread and a salad....Wonderful comfort food...
Tips:
- Use dried red beans for a more flavorful dish. If using canned beans, rinse them thoroughly before cooking.
- Soak the beans overnight in water to reduce cooking time. If you don't have time to soak the beans, you can quick-soak them by boiling them for 1 minute, then removing them from the heat and letting them sit for 1 hour.
- Use a heavy-bottomed pot or Dutch oven to cook the beans. This will help to prevent them from sticking to the bottom of the pot and burning.
- Add aromatics, such as onion, garlic, and celery, to the pot when cooking the beans. This will help to add flavor to the dish.
- Season the beans with salt, pepper, and other spices to taste. You can also add a bay leaf or two for extra flavor.
- Simmer the beans for at least 1 hour, or until they are tender. The longer you simmer them, the more flavorful they will be.
- Serve the beans over rice with your favorite toppings, such as hot sauce, sour cream, or shredded cheese.
Conclusion:
Red beans and rice is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for a weeknight meal. With a few simple ingredients and a little bit of time, you can create a hearty and flavorful dish that the whole family will enjoy.
