Tips:

  • Prep the Rice Krispies Treats: Prepare the Kellogg's Rice Krispies Treats according to the package instructions. Use unsalted butter to avoid making the treats too salty. If you want chewier treats, add 3 tablespoons of light corn syrup and heat until amber in color before stirring in the marshmallows. For a gooey texture, add ¼ cup of marshmallow fluff after stirring in the melted butter.
  • Make the Peanut Butter Mixture: In a medium bowl, beat the peanut butter, confectioners' sugar, and butter until smooth and creamy. If the mixture is too thick, add 1 tablespoon of milk at a time until you reach the desired consistency.
  • Layer the Bars: Start by pressing half of the Rice Krispies Treats mixture into a 9x13 inch baking pan lined with parchment paper. Then, spread the peanut butter mixture evenly over the Rice Krispies Treats layer. Top with the remaining Rice Krispies Treats mixture and press down firmly to ensure the bars hold together.
  • Chill and Cut: Refrigerate the bars for at least 2 hours, or overnight, before cutting them into squares. This will help them firm up and make them easier to cut cleanly. Use a sharp knife to cut the bars into 12 even squares.
  • Decorate (Optional): For a fun and festive touch, drizzle the bars with melted chocolate or peanut butter. You can also sprinkle chopped peanuts, chopped bacon, or mini chocolate chips on top for added flavor and texture.

Conclusion:

These no-bake Kellogg's Five-Layer Bars are a delightful treat that combines the classic flavors of Rice Krispies Treats and peanut butter in a unique and irresistible way. With their chewy texture, gooey peanut butter filling, and optional chocolate or peanut butter drizzle, these bars are sure to be a hit at your next party or gathering. So, gather your ingredients, follow the simple steps, and indulge in this delicious dessert that is perfect for any occasion.
