Tips:

  • Prep Your Apples: For the best results, choose firm, crisp apples like Honeycrisp, Granny Smith, or Pink Lady. Peel, core, and slice them evenly so they cook uniformly.
  • Make a Flavorful Streusel: Combine flour, sugar, butter, and spices to create a crumbly streusel topping. You can add chopped nuts or dried fruits for extra flavor and texture.
  • Don't Overmix the Batter: Overmixing can result in a tough, dense cake. Mix just until the ingredients are combined and avoid overbeating.
  • Bake Until Golden Brown: Keep an eye on the cake as it bakes. Insert a toothpick into the center; it should come out clean or with just a few moist crumbs attached.
  • Let It Cool Before Serving: Allow the cake to cool completely before slicing and serving. This will help it hold its shape and prevent it from falling apart.
