Tips:
- Choose the right ingredients: Use fresh, unwilted mint leaves for the best flavor. Look for firm, ripe lemons and limes. And use filtered or spring water for the purest taste.
- Make a simple syrup: This will help to dissolve the sugar and create a smooth, consistent lemonade. To make simple syrup, combine equal parts sugar and water in a saucepan and bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring constantly until the sugar has dissolved. Remove from heat and let cool completely.
- Infuse the water with mint and ginger: This will give the lemonade a refreshing, flavorful twist. To infuse the water, bring it to a boil in a large pot. Add the mint leaves and ginger slices and let simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool completely.
- Add lemon and lime juice: Once the infused water has cooled, add the lemon and lime juice. Stir to combine.
- Sweeten to taste: If desired, add simple syrup to taste. Stir to dissolve.
- Chill and serve: Refrigerate the lemonade for at least 2 hours, or overnight, to allow the flavors to meld. Serve over ice with a garnish of mint leaves and lemon slices.
