Tips:

  • Use a variety of apples. This will give your bars a more complex flavor. Some good choices include Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, and Pink Lady apples.
  • Peel and core your apples before cooking them. This will make them easier to mash and will also help to remove any bitterness from the skin.
  • Cook your applesauce until it is thick and bubbly. This will help to ensure that your bars are moist and flavorful.
  • Let your applesauce cool completely before adding it to the other ingredients. This will help to prevent the bars from becoming too runny.
  • Be sure to grease and flour your baking pan before baking the bars. This will help to prevent them from sticking.
  • Bake the bars until they are golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Let the bars cool completely before frosting them. This will help to prevent the frosting from melting.

Conclusion:

Frosted Apple Sauce Raisin Bars are a delicious and easy-to-make treat that is perfect for any occasion. They are moist, flavorful, and have a perfect balance of sweetness and tartness. The frosting is the perfect finishing touch, adding a creamy and decadent flavor to the bars.
