FRUIT DROP COOKIES

This was my Aunt Margaret K. Sims' specialty! She made them by the hundreds for Christmas gifts. A tin of her cookies was always a favorite holiday treat. Aunt M always added flour to everything she baked, even cake mix. So add an extra third to half cup of flour to this mixture, and your cookies will turn out nice and mounded. As is, they spread out quite a bit.

  • Select the Right Baking Pan: Use a non-stick or parchment paper-layered quarter sheet pan during the preparation of your cookies. This preventive measure ensures that your cookies don't stick to the pan, resulting in frustration-free removal.
  • Chilling the Dough is Key: The act of chilling the prepared batter, prior to the procedure of baking, plays a significant role in the preservation of the soft and chewy texture once baked. It prevents the development of an exceedingly crispy texture.
  • Attention to Baking Time: Prolonging the duration of the cookies in the heat of the stove could result in them turning crispy. The cookies are perfectly baked when their surface is supple and their perimeter has a faint golden-golden brown hue.
