FABULOUS FUDGE FILLED BARS
These are my old faithful!! When I don't know what to make for a dessert I will make these. Everyone always loves them!! They are quick and easy. I have made them for years. I will make them different by adding pecans to the top or making the bottom thicker by using more cookie dough. Depends on my mood =)

FUDGE FILLED PEANUT BUTTER BARS
Steps:
- Crust: In mixing bowl combine melted peanut butter, butter/margarine, cake mix and eggs. Stir by hand until mixture holds together by itself. Press 2/3 of dough into a 13"X9" pan. Reserve remaining dough for topping. Prepare filling from above using the following instructions: Combine all ingredients for filling in a sauce pan and mix together stirring constantly until smooth and melted, pour over crust. Sprinkle reserved dough on top of filling. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes.
Tips:
- To achieve a smooth and creamy fudge filling, use high-quality chocolate and heavy cream. Evaporated milk can be substituted for a slightly denser texture.
- Use a candy thermometer to ensure the sugar syrup reaches the correct temperature for a perfect fudge consistency. A too-hot syrup will result in grainy fudge, while a too-cool syrup will be too soft.
- To prevent the fudge from crystallizing, store it in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks. For longer storage, keep it in the refrigerator for up to 3 months.
- To easily cut the fudge bars, chill them in the refrigerator or freezer before slicing. This will prevent the fudge from sticking to the knife and crumbling.
- For a fun twist, try adding chopped nuts, dried fruits, or flavored extracts to the fudge filling before pouring it into the crust.
