Tips:

  • Choose the right pasta: Spaghetti or spaghettini are the traditional choices for German Spaghettini, but you can also use other long, thin pastas like angel hair or fettuccine.
  • Cook the pasta al dente: This means that the pasta should be cooked until it is tender but still has a slight bite to it.
  • Use a good quality bacon: Thick-cut bacon is best, and it should be cooked until it is crispy.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan: When cooking the bacon, make sure to give it enough space so that it can crisp up properly.
  • Use a large skillet: You'll need a large skillet to cook the pasta, bacon, and sauce all together.
  • Add the pasta to the skillet: Once the bacon is cooked, add the pasta and toss it to coat it in the bacon fat.
  • Add the sauce: Pour the tomato sauce over the pasta and bacon and stir to combine.
  • Simmer the pasta: Bring the mixture to a simmer and then reduce the heat to low. Simmer the pasta for about 10 minutes, or until it is heated through.
  • Serve immediately: German Spaghettini is best served immediately, topped with grated Parmesan cheese and parsley.
