Yield 8

Number Of Ingredients 14

1 lb hot italian sausage
1 clove garlic
1 Tablespoon chopped parsley
1 Tablespoon dried basil
1 1/2 teas salt
1 large can Italian style tomatoes
2 6 oz cans tomato paste
1 10 ounce package lasagna noodles
3 cups ricotta cheese
2 beaten eggs
2 teas. salt
1/2 teas pepper
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
1 lb mozzarella cheese sliced thin

Steps:

  • Brown meat slowly. Spoon off excess fat. Add next six ingredients. Simmer uncovered till thick, about 45 minutes stirring occasionally. Cook noodles, rince in cold water. Combine ricotta, eggs, salt, pepper, parsley, parmesan. Place half noodles in 13x9x2 inch baking dish; spread on half of the cheese-egg mixture, half mozzarella, half meat sauce. Repeat layers. Bake inmoderate oven 375 for 30 - 45 minutes. Let stand 10-15 minutes before cutting in squares.

Tips:

  • Use fresh ingredients. The fresher the ingredients, the better the cookies will taste. This is especially important for the butter, sugar, and eggs.
  • Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. This will help to incorporate air into the cookies, making them light and airy.
  • Do not overmix the dough. Overmixing the dough will make the cookies tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes before baking. This will help the cookies to hold their shape and prevent them from spreading too much.
  • Bake the cookies at the correct temperature. The temperature will vary depending on the recipe, so be sure to follow the instructions carefully.
  • Let the cookies cool completely before storing them. This will help them to keep their shape and prevent them from becoming too soft.

Conclusion:

Grandma Betty's birdseed cookies are a delicious and easy-to-make treat that is perfect for any occasion. With just a few simple ingredients, you can create a batch of cookies that are sure to please everyone. So next time you're looking for a sweet snack, give Grandma Betty's birdseed cookies a try.
