Tips:

  • For a more flavorful potato salad, use a variety of potatoes, such as red potatoes, Yukon Gold potatoes, and fingerling potatoes.
  • To prevent the potatoes from becoming too mushy, boil them until they are just tender.
  • If you are using mayonnaise-based dressing, be sure to use cold potatoes and dressing to prevent the mayonnaise from separating.
  • For a tangy potato salad, add some vinegar or lemon juice to the dressing.
  • For a creamy potato salad, add some sour cream or yogurt to the dressing.
  • For a smoky potato salad, add some smoked paprika or bacon to the dressing.
  • For a spicy potato salad, add some diced jalapeños or cayenne pepper to the dressing.
  • For a herby potato salad, add some chopped fresh parsley, dill, or chives to the dressing.
  • Garnish the potato salad with chopped fresh herbs, crumbled bacon, or hard-boiled eggs.
