CARAMEL CAKE FROSTING / ICING

Caramel Cake Frosting / Icing image

Make and share this Caramel Cake Frosting / Icing recipe from Food.com.

Provided by WJKing

Categories     Dessert

Time 15m

Yield 2 layers

Number Of Ingredients 4

1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup butter
1/4 cup milk
confectioners' sugar, as needed

Steps:

  • Cook sugar and butter for two minutes.
  • Stir in 1/4 cup milk.
  • Bring to a boil; cool.
  • Stir in 10x (confectioner's) sugar, until thick enough to spread.
  • Makes enough for 2 large cake layers.

Tips:

  • Mise en Place: Before you start baking, make sure you have all your ingredients and tools ready. This will help you stay organized and avoid scrambling.
  • Use Room Temperature Ingredients: Most recipes call for room temperature ingredients because they combine more easily and evenly. If you don't have time to let your ingredients come to room temperature, you can warm them up slightly in the microwave.
  • Don't Overmix: Overmixing can make your cake tough. Mix your batter just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Bake in a Preheated Oven: Always preheat your oven before baking. This helps ensure that your cake bakes evenly.
  • Don't Open the Oven Door: Opening the oven door during baking can cause your cake to fall. If you need to check on your cake, do so through the oven window.
  • Use a Toothpick to Test for Doneness: Insert a toothpick into the center of your cake. If it comes out clean, your cake is done. If there is batter or crumbs on the toothpick, continue baking for a few more minutes.

Conclusion:

Grandma's Caramel Cake with Caramel Icing is a delicious and decadent dessert that is perfect for any occasion. The moist and fluffy cake is topped with a rich and creamy caramel icing that is to die for. Follow the tips above to make sure your cake turns out perfect every time.
