GREEK MARINADE FOR SHRIMP/SEAFOOD

Greek Marinade for Shrimp/Seafood image

This would also be a great marinade for poultry. This is simple, quick and quite tasty!! Please allow time for marinading, as it isn't included in the prep time. Cavender's All Purpose Greek Seasoning includes salt, pepper, oregano, garlic, onion powder, parsley, flavor based seasoning and 5 other spices not listed. I would recommend grilling the shrimp and using the marinade to baste the shrimp during the initial cook time. This marinade will easily cover/marinade 1 1/2 lbs shrimp.

GREEK VINAIGRETTE OR MARINADE

Greek Vinaigrette or Marinade image

Good Seasons

Provided by Jason Koch

Categories     Other Sauces

Number Of Ingredients 6

1/4 c red wine vinegar
3 Tbsp water
1/4 c olive oil
1/4 c vegetable oil
1/4 c feta cheese, crumbled
2 Tbsp ripe olives, chopped

Steps:

  • 1. Mix together in Cruet

Tips:

  • Use high-quality olive oil: Greek marinade is all about the olive oil, so make sure you use a good one. Extra virgin olive oil is the best choice, as it has the most flavor and antioxidants.
  • Don't be afraid to experiment with different herbs and spices: The basic Greek marinade ingredients are olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, and oregano, but you can add other herbs and spices to taste. Some popular additions include thyme, rosemary, basil, mint, paprika, and cumin.
  • Let the meat marinate for at least 30 minutes, but no longer than 24 hours: The longer the meat marinates, the more flavorful it will be. However, if you marinate the meat for too long, it can become tough.
  • Use a glass or ceramic bowl to marinate the meat: Metal bowls can react with the marinade and alter the flavor of the meat.
  • Cover the meat completely with the marinade: This will ensure that the meat is evenly flavored.
  • Discard the marinade after use: Do not reuse the marinade, as it can contain harmful bacteria.

Conclusion:

Greek marinade is a delicious and versatile way to add flavor to your favorite meats. With its simple ingredients and easy-to-follow instructions, Greek marinade is a great choice for busy home cooks. Whether you're grilling, roasting, or baking, Greek marinade will help you create tender, juicy, and flavorful meat that your family and friends will love.
