Tips:

  • Choose the right peppers. Look for fresh, firm peppers that are deep green in color. Poblano peppers are a good option, as they are mild in heat and have a slightly sweet flavor.
  • Roast the peppers before using them. Roasting the peppers will help to bring out their flavor and make them easier to work with. You can roast the peppers in a preheated oven at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 15-20 minutes, or until they are charred and slightly softened.
  • Use a food processor to make the jelly. A food processor will help to quickly and easily puree the peppers and other ingredients. If you don't have a food processor, you can use a blender or a mortar and pestle.
  • Cook the jelly over low heat. Cooking the jelly over low heat will help to prevent it from burning and sticking to the pan. Stir the jelly frequently to ensure that it cooks evenly.
  • Test the jelly for doneness by dropping a small amount onto a chilled plate. If the jelly wrinkles when you push it with your finger, it is ready. If it is still too liquid, continue cooking for a few more minutes.
  • Pour the jelly into sterilized jars and seal them tightly. Sterilizing the jars will help to prevent the jelly from spoiling. You can sterilize the jars by boiling them in water for 10 minutes.

Conclusion:

Green chili pepper jelly is a versatile condiment that can be used in a variety of ways. It can be spread on sandwiches, crackers, or crostini. It can also be used as a glaze for chicken, fish, or pork. Green chili pepper jelly can also be added to soups, stews, and sauces. No matter how you use it, green chili pepper jelly is sure to add a delicious and unique flavor to your meal.
