1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
2 c monterey jack cheese, grated
avocado wedges, optional
salsa verde, optional

  • 11. Serve with avocado and more salsa, if desired.

Tips:

  • Soak the corn husks in warm water for at least 30 minutes before using to make them pliable and easy to work with.
  • If you don't have fresh corn, you can use frozen corn kernels. Just thaw them before using. One cup of fresh corn kernels yields about 1/2 cup of cooked corn.
  • To make the masa dough, use a food processor or blender to mix the masa harina with the water, salt, and baking powder. This will create a smooth, lump-free dough.
  • When filling the corn husks, be sure to leave about 1 inch of space at the top so that the tamales can expand while cooking.
  • To cook the tamales, steam them in a pot of boiling water for about 45 minutes, or until the masa dough is firm and the corn husks are tender.
  • Serve the tamales hot with your favorite toppings, such as salsa, guacamole, sour cream, and cheese.

Conclusion:

Green corn tamales are a delicious and traditional Mexican dish that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. They are perfect for a quick and easy meal or as a side dish for a larger meal. With a few simple ingredients and a little bit of time, you can make green corn tamales that will be sure to impress your family and friends.
