Backwoods country-style way of cooking and rustle up to my hearty Hillbilly One Pot.

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 1/2 lb 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
4 c cups beef broth
3 oz 15.5-ounce cans black eyed peas, not drained
3 potatoes, peeled, diced
1 onion, chopped
1 stalk(s) celery stalk, chopped
1 carrot, chopped
3/4 tsp smoked paprika
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper

Steps:

  • 1. In a soup pot over medium heat, saute ground beef 5 to 6 minutes, or until browned. Add remaining ingredients and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer 30 to 35 minutes, or until potatoes are fork-tender.
  • 2. Sopping up this flavorful sauce with some tasty rolls is definitely the way to go here!

How to make Hillbilly Cabbage One Pot

Number Of Ingredients 12

1 head cabbaage, coarsely chopped
3 or 4 large carrots, sliced
3 potatoes, cubed
1 onion, chopped
2 cloves of garlic chopped
1 cup chicken broth
1/2 teaspoon thyme
salt to taste
1/2 teaspoon sage
1/2 teaspoon white pepper
1/2 teaspoon lemon pepper
1 pound ground beef

Steps:

  • Brown ground beef in dutch oven. Pour off any grease.
  • Put everything else all in large dutch oven, cover and bring to a boil.
  • Lower heat and simmer for about 30 minutes, till all is tender. Optional, add mushrooms, zuchinni or whatever you like.
