Time 45m

Yield 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 lb whole pork tenderloin
1/2 cup soy sauce (I recommend using low-sodium soy sauce)
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
1 tablespoon sesame oil
1/4 cup honey
2 tablespoons packed brown sugar
4 tablespoons sesame seeds

Steps:

  • Combine soy sauce, ginger, garlic and sesame oil.
  • Place tenderloin in a resealable plastic food storage bag and pour the soy sauce mixture into it.
  • Marinate for 2 hours in the refrigerator. **I do not recommend marinating this any longer than 2 hours - as the pork will become too salty tasting**.
  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  • Remove pork from marinade and pat dry with a paper towel.
  • Mix honey and brown sugar on a plate. (You could use a whisk if you're having trouble mixing these ingredients.).
  • Place sesame seeds on another plate.
  • Roll pork in honey mixture and then roll in the sesame seeds.
  • Roast in a shallow pan for 20 to 30 minutes or until meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part registers 160 degrees.
  • Suggested to serve over rice.

Categories     Pork

Yield 4 servings

Number Of Ingredients 8

1/2 c. soy sauce
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 tbsp. grated fresh ginger or 1 tsp. dry ginger
1 lb. whole pork tenderloin
1/4 c. honey
2 tbsp. brown sugar
4 tbsp. sesame seeds
1 tbsp. sesame oil

Steps:

  • Combine soy sauce, garlic, ginger and sesame oil. Place tenderloin in a heavy plastic bag, pour soy mixture over. Let marinate 2 hours at room temperature, or overnight in the refrigerator. Remove pork from marinade, pat dry. Mix together honey and brown sugar in a shallow plate. Place sesame seeds on a separate shallow plate. Roll pork in honey mixture, coating well, then roll in sesame seeds. Roast pork in a shallow pan in a 375 degree oven for 20 to 30 minutes, until meat thermometer registers 160. Remove to a heated serving platter; slice thinly to serve.

Tips:

  • Choose a pork tenderloin that is about 1 pound in weight. This will ensure that it cooks evenly.
  • To make the marinade, whisk together the soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger. Make sure the marinade is well combined.
  • Let the pork tenderloin marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or up to overnight. This will allow the flavors of the marinade to penetrate the meat.
  • When you are ready to cook the pork tenderloin, heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sesame seeds and toast them until they are golden brown. Remove the sesame seeds from the skillet and set them aside.
  • Add the pork tenderloin to the skillet and cook it for 5-7 minutes per side, or until it is cooked through. Remove the pork tenderloin from the skillet and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing it.
  • To make the honey sesame sauce, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger. Bring the sauce to a simmer over medium heat and cook it for 5 minutes, or until it has thickened.
  • Serve the pork tenderloin with the honey sesame sauce and the toasted sesame seeds.

Conclusion:

Honey sesame pork tenderloin is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for a weeknight meal. The pork is tender and flavorful, and the honey sesame sauce is the perfect complement. This dish is sure to be a hit with your family and friends!
