Tips:

  • Choose the right oats: Use rolled oats or old-fashioned oats for the best texture. Quick-cooking oats will result in a softer granola.
  • Use a variety of nuts and seeds: This will add flavor, texture, and nutrients to your granola. Some popular options include almonds, walnuts, pecans, chia seeds, and flax seeds.
  • Sweeten your granola naturally: Use honey, maple syrup, or agave nectar instead of refined sugar. You can also add dried fruit, such as raisins, cranberries, or cherries, for natural sweetness.
  • Season your granola with spices: This will add depth of flavor. Some popular options include cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and cloves.
  • Bake your granola at a low temperature: This will help it to crisp up without burning. Stir the granola every 15 minutes or so to ensure that it cooks evenly.
  • Let your granola cool completely before storing it: This will help it to keep its crunch. Store the granola in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.
