This recipe has been my standard for pasta and lasagna. I've never found another like it and it seems that many people haven't since I lost it and tried on here, Hunt's website, and many, many other places to find it again. I'm posting it here so it won't get lost again. If you are into canning, make a bunch. Give this sauce time to thicken. It's even better the next day!

Tips:

  • Use fresh, ripe tomatoes for the best flavor. You can also use canned tomatoes, but be sure to choose high-quality ones.
  • If you're using fresh tomatoes, blanch them first to remove the skins. This will make them easier to chop and will also help to preserve their flavor.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan when you're cooking the sauce. This will prevent the sauce from cooking evenly.
  • Simmer the sauce for at least 30 minutes, or longer if you have the time. This will help to develop the flavor of the sauce.
  • Season the sauce to taste with salt, pepper, and other herbs and spices. You can also add a pinch of sugar to balance out the acidity of the tomatoes.
  • Serve the sauce over your favorite pasta, or use it as a topping for pizza or lasagna.

Conclusion:

Hunt's Quick Spaghetti Sauce is a delicious and versatile sauce that can be used in a variety of dishes. It's easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste preferences. With just a few simple ingredients, you can create a flavorful and satisfying sauce that the whole family will enjoy.
