My favorite beverage is a Iced Mocha Latte. I use Starbucks original whole bean coffee and grind it to a fine espresso and brew it up in my espresso machine. I find this gives the latte the perfect taste. This recipe makes a medium Iced Mocha Latte. Enjoy!

MATCHA GREEN TEA SMOOTHIE OR ICED LATTE
If you've read a newspaper or watched the news recently you've probably heard about all the health benefits of drinking Green Tea. It has tons of antioxidents and helps boost metabolism and helps you burn more fat and thus lose more weight. I enjoy drinking green tea and occasionally I enjoy a Starbucks Green Tea Frappuccino, or a Jamba Juice Matcha Smoothie Blast. This recipe is one I developed to be able to enjoy these smoothies at home. I think it tastes great and is really good for your health too. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Please note that this recipe does require premium matcha green tea powder. This is not just regular green tea leaves pulverized. This premium powder can be purchased at Japanese grocers, or online. I happen to purchase mine on that popular online auction site I'm sure you're familiar with. I use the "Usucha" (or thin) matcha green tea powder that comes straight from Kyoto, Japan. Feel free to contact me if you need help finding this tea and I can show you where to purchase it directly. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this as much as I do.

ICED CHAI/ESPRESSO LATTE
All the caffeine of espresso with the flavor of chai :) Use 2 tea bags for an extra strong flavor. I like to top with whipped cream and sprinkled cinnamon or drizzled honey. Tip: If you don't have an espresso machine and use regular strength coffee, you can vary the recipe as follows: 1) brew coffee; 2) place tea bags & sugar in hot coffee to soak and place in the refrigerator to chill; 3) mix with half n half.

SALTED ICED LATTE
Adding a pinch of salt to your coffee makes it smoother without having to rely on sugar to mask the flavor. It mellows out a rather punchy cup of coffee, and you can use way less milk than usual. Here's the thing though -- use just a pinch! If you go crazy, it will taste like salty coffee. I dressed up my version here by adding some vanilla bean and shaking the ingredients in a cocktail shaker to get an amazing frothy texture. Enjoy!

ICED CARAMEL LATTE
I've made this delicious iced caramel latte several times. I've also made it using the caramel ice cream topping, and also with the caramel sundae syrup, but I have to say... I really didn't care for the caramel sundae syrup. So when making this caramel latte, be sure to use the caramel ice cream topping, like Hershey's. It gave...

Steps:
- 1. In a tall beverage glass, add the coffee granules and hot water; until coffee is dissolved.
- 2. Add the caramel ice cream topping; stir well to combine.
- 3. Add the milk and water; stir until combined.
- 4. Add ice to the glass; and serve immediately.
- 5. Note: Not quite sure how much coffee granules to add when making this latte? I've experimented several times trying to decide what would be the right the amount to add. If adding the 4 teaspoons, I've found the coffee does taste a bit stronger, but it doesn't seem to over power the taste of the caramel topping that's in it, but... after letting the latte sit for a while, and letting the ice cubes melt a bit into the coffee. I found the coffee didn't taste as strong, and I still could taste the caramel topping in it. And when I added less coffee granules, (the 3-1/2 teaspoons) I found I didn't have to let the coffee sit, and let the ice cubes melt just a bit, so the coffee didn't taste as strong. I was able to enjoy the latte immediately. So the amount of instant coffee granules you decide to add, I'll leave that up to you!
Tips for Making a Perfect Iced Latte:
- Use Freshly Brewed Coffee: Freshly brewed coffee will give your iced latte the best flavor. If you don't have freshly brewed coffee, you can use cold brew coffee or espresso.
- Chill Your Coffee: Before you make your iced latte, chill your coffee in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes. This will help to prevent your latte from becoming too diluted when you add the ice.
- Use High-Quality Milk: The type of milk you use will also affect the flavor of your iced latte. Whole milk will give you a richer, creamier latte, while skim milk will give you a lighter, less creamy latte.
- Sweeten to Taste: If you like your iced latte sweet, you can add sugar, honey, or syrup to taste.
- Garnish with Ice Cubes: When you serve your iced latte, garnish it with a few ice cubes and a sprinkle of your favorite topping, such as chocolate shavings or cinnamon.
Conclusion:
Iced lattes are a delicious and refreshing way to enjoy coffee. They are perfect for a hot summer day or a quick pick-me-up in the afternoon. With a few simple ingredients and a little bit of time, you can make a perfect iced latte at home. So next time you're craving a coffee drink, try making an iced latte. You won't be disappointed!
