Last Minute Lasagna
serves 6
10 min prep
45 min cook time
Ingredients
1 26-ounce jar pasta sauce
2 30-ounce bags frozen large cheese ravioli, unthawed
1 10-ounce box frozen chopped spinach, thawed and squeezed of excess water
1 8-ounce bag shredded mozzarella
1/2 cup grated Parmesan

Steps:

  • 1.Heat oven to 350° F. Coat a 13-by-9-inch baking dish with cooking spray and spoon in a third of the sauce. 2.Arrange 12 ravioli on top and scatter the spinach over them. Top with half of each cheese. Cover with another layer of ravioli and the remaining sauce and cheese. 3.Cover with foil and bake 25 minutes. Uncover and bake 5 to 10 minutes more or until bubbly.

Tips:

  • Choose the Right Noodles: Use lasagna noodles that are specifically designed for lasagna. These noodles are thicker and have a slightly rough texture, which helps them hold the sauce and cheese better.
  • Cook the Noodles Properly: Be sure to cook the lasagna noodles according to the package directions. Overcooked noodles will become mushy and won't hold their shape. Rinse the noodles in cold water as soon as they are done cooking to stop the cooking process and prevent them from sticking together.
  • Layer Wisely: When assembling the lasagna, layer the ingredients in a specific order. Start with a layer of sauce, then a layer of noodles, then a layer of cheese, and so on. Repeat this process until you have used up all of the ingredients.
  • Use a Variety of Cheeses: Don't be afraid to use a variety of cheeses in your lasagna. A combination of mozzarella, ricotta, and Parmesan cheeses is a classic choice, but you can also experiment with other cheeses, such as cheddar, fontina, or asiago.
  • Let it Rest: Once you have assembled the lasagna, let it rest for at least 30 minutes before baking it. This will allow the flavors to meld and the lasagna to set.

Conclusion:

Last-minute lasagna is a delicious and easy meal that can be made with a few simple ingredients. By following these tips, you can make a lasagna that is sure to impress your family and friends. Whether you are short on time or just looking for a quick and easy meal, last-minute lasagna is a great option.
