Time 10m

Yield 4 cocktails

Number Of Ingredients 7

4 fresh mint sprigs
2 limes, quartered
1 cucumber, cubed
Ice
8 ounces gin (1 cup)
20 ounces tonic water (2 1/2 cups)
2 stalks lemongrass, cut in half lengthwise

Steps:

  • Put a mint sprig, 2 lime wedges and a few cucumber pieces in each of 4 glasses. Muddle slightly. Fill the glasses with ice. Add the gin, and top off with tonic water. Garnish with a stick of lemongrass.

Tips:

  • Choose the right gin. A good gin for a lemongrass gin and tonic will be one that has a strong citrus flavor, such as a London dry gin or a citrus-infused gin.
  • Use fresh lemongrass. Fresh lemongrass will give your drink the best flavor. If you can't find fresh lemongrass, you can use dried lemongrass, but it will not be as flavorful.
  • Make a lemongrass syrup. Lemongrass syrup is a great way to add lemongrass flavor to your drink. To make lemongrass syrup, simply combine equal parts sugar and water in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and add lemongrass. Let steep for at least 30 minutes, then strain and chill.
  • Garnish your drink with lemongrass. A sprig of lemongrass is a beautiful and flavorful garnish for a lemongrass gin and tonic. You can also use a slice of lime or a twist of lemon.

Conclusion:

The lemongrass gin and tonic is a refreshing and flavorful cocktail that is perfect for any occasion. With its bright citrus flavor and subtle herbal notes, this drink is sure to please everyone. So next time you're looking for a new cocktail to try, give the lemongrass gin and tonic a try. You won't be disappointed.
